Appreciating the subtle and not so subtle physical differences between individuals or subspecies of animals. Leucistic Turkey Vultures (Cathartes aura)

 

  1. Your typical turkey vulture, with dark plumage.
  2. A diluted example, with a grey-blue color
  3. This one has areas of white on the tops of it’s wings, on it’s chest, and on the center of the feathers on it’s neck.
  4. A sandy-tan vulture in captivity.
  5. Nearly all white, this bird has a few feathers with flecks of black lightly scattered around it’s body.
  6. Pure white plumage!
